Free images to download to cricut

Which one can you find more images for? Do both machines do the exact same thing? Any answers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! When it comes to machines they both do very similar things.

The big difference is the software. Silhouette Studio is actual software that you install onto your computer and is accessible at all times. If you want to create your own designs, the Silhouette software is awesome. Cricut does do more marketing which is why they appear to be more popular. As far as images, you can find an abundance of designs for both machines. Most people who design, design file that will work with both. I hope this answered some of your questions.

Thanks for such great info! I made Christmas ornaments. In clicking the links, I found a broken link: craftbundles You have the link under that name as craftbundles. I received a cricut joy for christmas and i love it! Now that i have ran across your site with all this great info, i am even more excited to do crafts. Thank you very much. Hi Diana…I was delighted to find your site…. Actually have 2 and a bundle of cartridges. That being said I saw a cameo4 today at hobby lobby….

It just gets me that you would have to pay I love the people who are willing to share their time to offer free files. More and more I am second guessing myself to make a decision…. Obviously you have an excellent assessment of both brands…. I like the idea of having full access to my files on a computer versus depending on a website…I had the cameo at the register but they informed me that it could not be returned if the box was opened even if damaged I would have to return to silhouette….

They have the same price at Amazon. Also is it true you can cut up to 10 ft. Rolls on the cameo? Hi Lisa! I originally started with a Cricut with cartridges too- way back in the day before Silhouette was even a thing. You can do a whole lot more with it too.

And the software gets downloaded to your computer so you are free to use it whenever and wherever you want with or without wifi and internet. And yes, you can cut long lengths of vinyl on the Silhouette. You would just forego the cutting mat and adjust the setting accordingly. I hope this helps. There is a cheaper site for vinyl you might want to check out. It is called vinyl.

Then you click the Browse button. Locate the SVG file. Do not upload the ZIP file by accident. If you do, you will get this message:. You want to find the decompressed version, and then find the SVG file inside that folder, and then upload that.

Windows is simply not showing it as an SVG because you do not have an application installed that understands and identifies it. So there we go, our image is uploaded to Cricut Design Space! Add in some tags and click the Save button. And it will save to Cricut Design Space for us.

And the uploaded files appears over on the left side of your screen. You click it and click Insert Image. On the screen that appears next, you can do one of two things. Either way works. Pretty nifty, eh? I appear to have a LOT. A sliding green bar across the top of your screen indicates that it is uploading.

You need to name and tag your image, and then click Save. A note about the Image Name and Tags. I recommend you at least put in tags, as it will help tremendously later when you are looking for a file. Just put in some tags that make sense to you. Nifty, eh? Just click once on the image of your upload. Now just click Insert Images. The design appears on your Canvas, ready to go.

There are often things you need to do to designs, especially more complex and amazing designs, after you upload. Do not double-click the SVG file. This will cause your computer to look for a file that can open it, such as Inkscape or Illustrator.

This is NOT what you want. Do not drag it to your browser window. This will usually result in your browser displaying the image, but not in your design software. This will not get you where you want to go.

Similarly, do not drag it into Cricut Design Space unless you are in the Upload Image window with the gray dashed line. Most designers, including myself, include the DXF file for those who have design software that does not allow SVG files. This is really a helpful tip. Add a customized saying or quote and make it uniquely yours. These are great versatile cute file images to iron onto a tea towel or oven glove. Sometimes you just need a simple enhancement to your project. Add some foliage or a cute arrow and make it complete.

I love making stuff for my kids and involving them in the process. Not only is it more cost effective most of the time, they love the entertainment.
