This workflow is for software license administrators or software users authorizing ArcGIS Pro for single use or concurrent use. An authorization file is a file containing the information you need to complete the authorization process if you are not able to authorize the software using the Internet. It can be used to authorize either Single Use or Concurrent Use licenses. In the Software Authorization Wizard , on the Authorization Method page, the default option is to authorize the software using the Internet.
Internet access is still needed at some point to communicate either with My Esri or through email with Esri Customer Service. If you want to authorize extensions, click the I have authorization number s to authorize one or more extensions option. Under Extensions , provide the authorization numbers for the extensions you want to authorize. The authorization information file needs to be uploaded to My Esri or emailed to Esri Customer Service.
The recommended method is to upload the file to My Esri. In this step you may choose to evaluate any extensions for which you have not provided an authorization code in the previous step. Use the online authorization and click Next to connect to the Esri Activation Site. Upon completion, you will receive a message that authorization is successful and the applications will be ready for use.
The remaining steps are applicable only to offline authorization. You will be requested to save your authorization information to disk as a file named authorize.
You can then upload the authorization text file or send an email with the file attached. If uploading the text file, an authorization response file will be generated to download.
When sending an email with the text file attached, you will receive a return email from Esri with the authorization response file. Click Next so the applications will be authorized and ready for use.
